Canada announced on June 24 that it would only be accepting 700 Federal Investor applicants for the year starting July 1.  In another testament to the necessity of using experienced professional help when preparing and timing your application, Citizenship and Immigration Canada confirmed that cap had been reached on July 7 after less than a week.  There is now a moratorium on the Federal Investor program until July 2012.

However, iMigration Canada’s licensed Immigration Consultant is also licensed by the Province of Quebec’s Ministère d’Immigration et Communautés Culturelles to advise and represent clients for Quebec’s Investor Program.  Due to the added pressure on this program from the unexpected cap set on Federal Investor applications, we are expecting changes soon. Canada announced that for the year starting July 1, 2011 there will only be 500 spaces available without a job offer for each of the Priority Occupations worldwide.  iMigration is strongly advising our clients to apply early to ensure smooth processing of their Permanent Residency under the current criteria.
